Caracal Anti-Frig AAR

E.C.N CEO Matador34 was flying in a fleet last night that was doing de-plexing in Heydieles and the surrounding solar systems Abune and Indregulle. They engaged a fleet of six Caracals in a medium complex. Matador34's friendly fleet consisted of about 15 ships - mostly frigs and a few destroyers. The Caracals appeared on short scan and soon after warped inside the plex. Since they decided to take the fight - even though they were outnumbered and the friendly fleet was mostly frigs and desys - it was obvious that they would be "Anti-Frig" fit. The battle went well for the friendly fleet and they downed 5 of the 6 Caracals. The point of this AAR is not to document the battle but to illustrate the fit the Caracals were flying. I used the kill board information from the lost Caracals and EFT. I then set all skills to lvl 5 - which is highly unlikely that all the Caracal pilots were LVL5 but I wanted to see the ships capabilities. Here are the results:

Figure 1: Showing the Caracal using Scourge Fury Light Missiles.
Figure 1 shows that using Scourge Fury Light Missiles (SFLM) would have a volley of 1008 and then a DPS of 298. The range is <47.5km. If they use Caldari Navy Scourge Light (CNSL) missiles then this would be the result:

Figure 2: Showing the Caracal using CNSL missiles.
Notice the range drastically increases but at the cost of DPS. This explains why they were unable to hit Matador34. Matador34 was in a sniper Talwar and was able to hit from 71km. All he had to do was stay outside of the Caracals CNSL range (< 63.3) and rely on fleet tackle to keep the Caracals from warping away and blast away on the Caracals.
